This Privacy Policy describes how VineChart ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website and services, including free email notifications and paid SMS Vine Drop Alerts.
1. Information We Collect
Email Notifications
When you subscribe to free email notifications, we collect:
- Email address (required) - Used to send you notifications about Amazon Vine drops
- Name (optional) - Used for personalization in email communications
SMS Text Notifications (paid subscription)
When you subscribe to paid SMS Vine Drop Alerts (where available), we collect:
- Mobile telephone number (required) — Used to deliver SMS notifications you opted in to receive about Amazon Vine drops and related service messages (for example welcome texts and HELP/STOP/START handling)
- Email address (required for checkout) — Used for Stripe billing, receipts, invoices, and subscription-related notices (not as a substitute for SMS consent)
- SMS consent and terms acceptance records — Including that you checked required consent boxes, and related timestamps / subscription identifiers we need to demonstrate opt-in and manage the program
- Subscription and billing status — Such as Stripe customer/subscription identifiers, status (for example active, past_due, canceled), period end, cancel-at-period-end flags, and SMS opt-out state
- Optional referral / “how you heard about us” answers — If you choose to provide them at signup
- Message delivery metadata — Limited logs needed to operate and troubleshoot SMS (for example message kind, send attempts, provider message IDs, and delivery-related events from our SMS provider)
We do not store your full payment card number on VineChart servers. Card and payment-method data are collected and processed by Stripe.
Contact Form
When you submit a contact form, we collect:
- Name - To address your inquiry
- Email address - To respond to your message
- Message content - The details of your inquiry or feedback
- Chart statistics (optional) - Technical data about the chart view you were using when submitting the form, to help us understand context
Android App
If you use our Android app, we may collect:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token - Used to send push notifications to your device
- App usage data - Basic analytics to improve app performance (via Firebase Analytics)
Automatically Collected Information
We automatically collect certain information when you visit our website:
- IP address - Used for security, rate limiting, and analytics
- Browser type and version - To ensure compatibility
- Device information - Screen size, device type (for responsive design)
- Usage data - Pages visited, time spent, interactions (via Cloudflare analytics)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Send you email notifications when Amazon Vine drops occur (if you subscribed to email)
- Send you SMS text notifications when you have an eligible paid subscription and valid SMS consent (including welcome messages and Vine drop alerts)
- Process payments, prevent duplicate enrollments, manage cancellations, and sync subscription status with Stripe
- Honor SMS keywords such as HELP, STOP, and START, and keep opt-out / re-opt-in records
- Send you push notifications (if you use the Android app)
- Respond to your contact form submissions and inquiries
- Improve our website and services
- Ensure website security and prevent abuse
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and carrier / messaging-compliance obligations
3. Data Storage and Security
Your personal information is stored securely:
- Database - Account, email, SMS subscription, and related records are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on our private server
- Encryption - Data is transmitted over HTTPS (SSL/TLS encryption)
- Access Control - Only authorized administrators have access to your data
- Backups - Regular backups are performed to prevent data loss
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Cloudflare - CDN, DDoS protection, and analytics. Cloudflare may set cookies and collect IP addresses. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
- Firebase (Google) - Push notifications and analytics for the Android app. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
- Stripe - Payment processing, checkout, invoices/receipts, and the Customer Billing Portal for paid SMS subscriptions. Stripe processes your email, payment method, and billing details under Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
- Email Service Provider - We use SMTP / email infrastructure to send notification and transactional emails. Your email address is processed by our email service provider to deliver those messages.
- SMS delivery provider (Telnyx) — We use Telnyx (or a successor carrier-approved messaging platform) to transmit SMS messages you requested. Telnyx processes mobile numbers and message content as needed to deliver traffic and may receive delivery-related events. See Telnyx’s Privacy Policy.
SMS and mobile subscriber information — no sharing for third-party marketing. VineChart does not sell, rent, or otherwise share your mobile telephone number or SMS/mobile subscriber information with third parties for their own promotional, advertising, or unrelated marketing purposes. Mobile information is used only for service-related and transactional messaging you have signed up for (such as Vine drop alerts and program/account texts), and any disclosure to messaging carriers or delivery providers (including Telnyx) is strictly limited to delivering those messages and operating the messaging program as described in this policy. Sharing with Stripe is limited to payment and subscription administration.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Unsubscribe (email) - You can unsubscribe from email notifications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by visiting vinechart.com/unsubscribe
- SMS opt-out — Reply STOP to our SMS messages to opt out of texts. Under our current program rules, STOP also cancels the related Stripe subscription immediately. You may also cancel or manage billing through Manage Subscription / the Stripe Customer Billing Portal, or contact us through our contact form. Reply HELP for help. If you previously opted out and re-subscribe, you may need to reply START (or complete a new consent flow) before alerts resume.
- Billing portal - Update payment method, view invoices, or cancel renewal through the Stripe Customer Billing Portal where we provide access
- Data Deletion - You can request deletion of your data by contacting us through our contact form or support@vinechart.com
- Data Access - You can request a copy of the data we have about you by contacting us
- Push opt-out - You can disable push notifications in your Android device settings or within the app
To unsubscribe or delete your data: Send a request through our contact form or email support@vinechart.com. We will process your request within 30 days, subject to records we must retain for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or carrier-compliance reasons.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and meet legal obligations:
- Email subscriptions - Retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
- SMS subscriptions — Mobile numbers and SMS consent/opt-out records are retained while you are enrolled and for a reasonable period afterward as needed to honor opt-outs, prevent accidental re-enrollment without consent, troubleshoot delivery, and meet messaging-compliance obligations. Billing and subscription records may be retained longer as required for accounting, tax, chargeback, and legal purposes
- Contact form submissions - Retained for up to 1 year for customer service purposes
- Analytics data - Retained in aggregated, anonymized form
When you unsubscribe or request deletion, we will remove or de-identify personal information from our active databases within 30 days where feasible. Some data may remain in backups for up to 90 days before being permanently deleted, and limited records may be kept longer when required by law or to demonstrate prior consent / opt-out.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use minimal cookies and tracking:
- Cloudflare cookies - Used for security and performance (see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy)
- No advertising cookies - We do not use advertising or marketing cookies
- No third-party advertising tracking - We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers for their marketing
8. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for children under 13 years of age (and paid subscriptions require you to be at least 18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence (including by processors such as Stripe, Telnyx, Cloudflare, and Google/Firebase). These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. By using our services, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries where permitted by law.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
