Got a fun update for ya today!

Drop Estimates is live
You will find a new Drop Estimates button next to Last Drop on the Live page.


Tap it for a best guess look at when Vine drops often happen, based on past VineChart drop alerts. This is a guide, not a schedule, and not a guarantee.

Inside you get:
• A Summary view with drop activity by hour, a callout for the highest activity hour, and the top 3 times to watch for a drop
• A Heat map of day of week by hour so you can see patterns across the week
• Lookback windows for 7, 30, 60, or 90 days
The percentages reflect how often drop alerts showed up in that hour or on that weekday in the window you picked. Times follow your VineChart timezone and 12 hour or 24 hour preference.

This started as a user suggestion. Thank you so much for that fantastic feature idea. I loved building it, and I hope it helps you plan when to keep an eye on Vine.

Android v1.3.3
This Android update brings:
• Drop Estimates through the in app Live experience
• A new Default Page setting for the Open Vine button so you can jump straight to Recommended For You, Available For All, or Additional Items, or ask every time
• Reduced memory and storage usage through app optimizations for Google’s upcoming Play policy changes
• A few bug and UI fixes

iOS v1.3.4
iOS also gets Drop Estimates in this release. It is currently in App Store review and should be available within the next several hours.

A heads up for the coming weeks
There will be a bit of downtime for server upgrades. The goal is a VineChart that is faster and more stable long term as we keep growing. I will try to keep any disruption as short as I can.

Got a packed update for you today covering iOS goodies, a platform wide bug fix, and a fun little side project I have been tinkering with.

iOS v1.3.1

• Custom time windows
-Choose up to 5 of your own timeframes in Edit Visible Stats, on top of the default 1 min / 30 min / 1 hr / 12 hr / 24 hr options. User suggested feature. Thank you💚

• Drag and drop stats cards
-Hold and drag time cards to put them in any order you want.

• Smarter Edit Visible Stats menu
-Half screen editor so you can see Live stats update as you change them, plus a reset to defaults if you want to start fresh.

• Smart card placement
-New custom windows and newly enabled defaults insert by shortest to longest among the cards you already have showing.

• Open Vine page picker
-Pick Recommended For You, Available For All, Additional Items, or Ask Every Time with a Set as default option, and the same style of chooser for Amazon app vs Browser. User suggested feature. Thank you💚

• In app browser drop alert fix
-A "Drop Started" notice no longer closes the Open Vine browser, so you keep your place while browsing and any review text you are writing while still getting the alert. User reported bug. Thank you💚

The iOS app has been submitted to Apple for review and should be available in the next 24 hours.

Platform wide bug fix
Custom time cards were sporadically showing miscalculated data across web and Android. That is fixed now so those windows stay honest. User reported bug. Thank you💚

VineChart G2 for Even Realities smart glasses
And yes, this one is a little different. VineChart G2 is out today for the Even Realities G2 smart glasses.

This has been a fun side project. I wear prescription glasses and thought it would be cool to see what the smart glasses world had to offer. Once I saw these had a development hub, I was sold. It is a very niche thing and I do not expect many people to have a pair. With the several thousands of you using VineChart though, maybe a few of you out there do. If that is you, go check it out and keep an "eye" on Vine while on the go! ("see" what I did there 😜)

A quick heart to heart
I have gotten a few strongly worded emails here lately that were honestly a bit discouraging. VineChart is not perfect. There is no one out there that knows that better than me and that is exactly why I keep updating it and taking your feedback and suggestions to make it better. When things don't go as planned, there is no one more frustrated by that than me. I am not here to make money. I genuinely enjoy working on VineChart and want to help the Vine community, and that is why I am here doing all of this. VineChart is not for everyone, and no one is being forced to use it. This is a free service straight from my passion poured into the community. Please keep that in mind before sending an email out of frustration. No one asked me to do this. I chose to be here.

With that said, the overwhelming amount of love and support outweighs the negativity 100 to 1, and I love the people who have been so kind, understanding, and supportive. Thank you to everyone who has stood with me through the ups and downs, and a very special thanks to those who have given monetarily. Hey everyone!

I got a fantastic suggestion about letting you create your own custom time cards for the stats you care about most, and I loved the idea so much I went ahead and built it. Thank you so much to the user that floated that one. You know who you are 😄. It is live now on the website and in the Android app.

You can add up to 5 custom time windows, show or hide the cards you want, and drag and drop them into whatever order feels best for you. There is also a Reset to Defaults button if you want a clean slate. That clears your custom windows, puts the cards back in shortest to longest order, and turns on the default 1 min, 12 hr, and 24 hr cards again.

This is coming to iOS next too. That version is still in the works and being developed and implemented, so hang tight while I get it there.

Hello Everyone!

Looks like the VPN company I use decided to quietly retire a bunch of servers and the one I was using got the boot this morning. I was tied up working and did not catch it until later. Switched over to one of their new servers and we are back in action!

You may notice about a 7 hour quiet stretch on the graph. Once more data rolls in that gap will fall off and things will look normal again.

Sorry for the hiccup everyone. Fingers crossed for a little more peace and quiet around here 🤞

Hey Everyone!

Had a major server outage earlier and things look like they are back up now. Out of the full about 7 hour outage I lost roughly 3 hours and 40 minutes of Vine data. You may notice a small jump in the graph around that time.

I was still able to manually collect Vine data and send out drop notifications while things were down. I am looking into mitigation options so we are better prepared if something like this happens again.

Hey everyone!

Huge news I’ve been dying to share: SMS / text Vine Drop Alerts are finally live.
It's live on the website. The Android and iOS apps are both still in review but should be live in the next
few hours.

For $3.99/month, you can get text alerts when a Vine drop kicks off. This is only for SMS. Free email alerts are still free, and that isn’t changing. I looked hard at offering text alerts to everyone for free, and the math was rough (we’re talking over $1,000 a month if it scaled the way email does). So paid SMS allows for the feature to exist for those who wish to use it without an astronomical monthly bill.

If you are interested in signing up, you can do so on the website by clicking the pre-existing Get Notified of Future Drops button and selecting the SMS/Text tab. On Android you will do the same. On iOS there is a new Bell icon in the top banner. Tap that and select SMS/Text to get signed up.

Getting here was a multi-month adventure of federal rules, verification hoops, carrier anti-spam policies, and enough red tape to wrap a small warehouse. SMS has been the #1 most requested feature for a long time, and I’m genuinely happy to say it’s finally available for anyone who wants it. I’ve been actively testing it for the past couple of weeks. It’s been quick, clean, and works great alongside the usual drop triggers.

Android app:
The Android app is updated so you can sign up for SMS right inside the app, plus Manage Subscription (verify with your billing email, open the portal, cancel at period end, cancel now, or resume). The in-app tour got an update as well so it covers email/text signup, subscription management, and the rest of the new bits.

iOS app:
Big one for iPhone folks: custom notifications are in, and you can now sign up for email and SMS from inside the iOS app as well. The iOS tour was updated to match all of that.
The VineChart widgets have also undergone a redesign, allowing you to interact with them and change the drop window times on the fly so you can set them up just the way you want them.

Hey everyone! VineChart Android v1.1.1 is rolling out on Google Play!

First, a quick note on email: I switched platforms after my old one shot up astronomically in price last month with Vine doing this new "double drops a day" thing. Things might be a little wonky during the transition, but it's been about a week now and things seem to be leveling out. With that, there may be a bit more of a delay with email notifications. Before, they would finish sending out in around 4-5 minutes. We are now looking at 7-8 minutes, though I am awaiting approval to increase my sending limits which should help cut that time down drastically.

Bigger news to come: I have full approval and documentation for the next major feature, and it’s been testing great on staging for weeks. It's been a long 3 month journey going over all the legal mumbo jumbo, and it's getting so close. I'm not ready to share details yet, but stay tuned!

Custom Drop Alerts are the headline here. Set your own thresholds and get notified when a drop starts or stops based on activity over a time window you choose. You can even turn off VineChart’s official drop notifications and use only your own custom rules. Open Settings and tap on "✨ Take the tour" for a full walkthrough on setup. If you need any help, feel free to reach out as always!

Getting this working on Android was a huge challenge. iOS will be tougher because of Apple’s background limits, but I do plan to bring custom alerts there too for all of our iOS users out there!

v1.1.1 also adds home screen widgets as well. This is something iOS has had for a bit now, and I wanted to make sure I got them working on Android as well.

Hey everyone,

A quick update on what’s been going on behind the scenes, plus a note for iOS app users.

Drop detection and those big spikes
If you’ve been watching the chart lately, you’ve probably noticed some wild moments. We’ve had spikes where over 100 items hit at once and notifications went out, even when things didn’t really turn into a sustained drop. I know that’s frustrating, and I want you to know I’ve been paying close attention.
For the past couple of weeks I’ve been making incremental changes almost every day as I see what needs to be tuned. The threshold approach I’ve been using worked for a long time, but with the kind of wild and crazy spikes we’re seeing now with things being all over the place, it’s just not a reliable way to tell whether a drop is happening or if things will instantly fall off.
Because of that, I’ve fully overhauled how drops are detected and triggered on my staging site. I’m still testing there every day and making small tweaks as I try to find the sweet spot. I’m also making careful, smaller adjustments on production in the meantime, but the big new system will stay on staging until I’m confident it’s solid. Once staging proves out, that’s when I'll move it into production.
Thanks for your patience while I work through this. The goal is the same as always, catch real drops and cut down on false positives.

You may have noticed a new popup a few days ago if you use the iOS app. It introduces VineChart and walks you through a short tour. It took me a bit longer to get that in than I wanted, but it’s live now.
If you missed the popup or want to go through the tour again, open Settings and tap Take The Tour.

Hey everyone,

Vine has switched things up again (shocker, I know 🙄). Drops have been all over the place lately. I’m not sure if that’s the holiday weekend or if this is the new normal. With Vine, it's anyones guess.

I wanted to give you a heads up in case you get a notification, check the site, and it doesn’t look like much is actually dropping. Vine has been adding just enough to hit my threshold, then it stops or slows to a crawl. I know that’s confusing and frustrating, and I’m sorry.

It’s also chewing through my SMTP limits fairly fast, so I’ve raised the bar for how many items need to drop before an alert goes out, and I’ve lengthened the cooldown between notifications. I’ll keep watching things closely, and if a real drop looks like it’s starting, I’ll push notifications manually if I need to.

Sorry for the hassle, and thank you for sticking with me in this constantly changing world we call Vine.

Introducing the VineChart Tour

Several of you have asked for an FAQ page, and it's been on my list for a while. I finally sat down to design it and realized something. A static Q&A page felt a bit dry. It would be much more fun to walk you through VineChart step by step instead. So that's what I built, a guided tour of the site rather than a traditional FAQ.

You may have noticed a new pop-up the first time you visited VineChart after this update. It has a short introduction to the tour and a Take the tour button if you want to jump in right away.

If you already closed that window, no worries. You can start the tour anytime from the FAQ / Tour button at the bottom of the page.

In other news

The most requested feature has taken longer than I'd hoped, mostly because the IRS doesn't move quickly. I'm happy to say I've finally been approved, and I'm now working on the design and implementation. I'm getting closer, and honestly I'm getting more and more excited to share it with all of you.

Hey everyone,

Sorry about the late drop tonight (4/23). I owe you a quick heads up.

The alerts did not fire on their own at first because Vine basically never let the last drop “finish” in the way the system counts it. If the drop never really “ends,” the next one never gets a clean “start,” so “drop in progress” never trips and the notifications never get fired out. I am still chasing the sweet spot on thresholds, and the second I think I have it nailed, Vine changes its mind and I am back at the drawing board.

This is not an every night thing, but it does happen sometimes, and I am sorry if it annoyed anyone who was waiting on the ping.

I pushed the notifications out manually, so the word still went out. But I wanted to be transparent and let everyone know what happened. We are building this together after all!

Hello everyone! It’s been about a month since my last update and I wanted to check in.

A lot has happened in the last month. Not just on Vine, but in my life too. I got married, we had a kiddo who needed emergency surgery (everyone’s okay, but whew), birthdays, switching colleges, and huge changes at my day job that turned into a lot of late nights. So thank you to everyone who’s stuck with me and kept supporting this project by sharing it, sending kind messages, and donating to help with server costs and my caffeine addiction. Every single one of you helps make VineChart what it is through your thoughts, care, and suggestions.

As we all know, Vine is still doing its little trickle “drops.” I’ve gotten several messages about notifications going out late, so I’ve lowered the threshold for how many items need to move to trigger alerts. I’ll keep tuning that until it feels right. Not so early that it’s a nuisance. Not so late that you’re missing the good stuff.

iOS app update (v1.1.0)
I’ve got an update sitting in review with Apple. Here’s what’s in it:
Compatibility: backend work so things play nice with load balancing.
-Bug fix: repeated in-app “drop” notifications every few minutes (no more confetti spams)
-Bug fix: Updates screen text formatting behaving itself
-Feature: you can finally see drop date/time history like on other platforms
-Update: Updates screen looks a bit nicer with tags like you see elsewhere

The big compatibility one is tied to load balancing. VineChart is running on three servers right now and I’m SO close to having LB fully in place and smoothed out. On iOS, data was coming from vinechart.com, and with balancing on it could bounce between backends. That led to a weird situation where the in-app “drop has started” moment could fire again every few minutes. Once v1.1.0 is approved and live, I can turn load balancing on without that particular issue.

The headline for most of you is probably drop history on iOS. You’ll be able to browse previous drop dates and times like you’ve been asking for. Thank you for the nudges. They worked.



Moving forward:
The biggest thing on my plate is still load balancing and getting it dialed in. After that’s stable, I can finally start on the single most requested feature. I’m not going to spoil it yet but we’re so close!
I also have a little VineChart hardware project in the works. Life has (hopefully) calmed down for a bit, so I want to get back to that. It’s fun and I’d love to share more when there’s something worth showing.

Planned downtime

Hey everyone. There's gonna be about 1 to 2 hours of downtime this evening for some server upgrades. I'll get everything back up and running as quick as I can.

Backend and loading

A lot of VineChart's backend has changed. There isn't a whole lot different on the front end, but the biggest thing you'll probably notice is loading time. VineChart used to take several seconds to load. I made some database changes and optimizations, so when you first open the site or the Android app that "Checking status…" should be much quicker now.

Drop emails

I've also been dealing with the server giving up under load when it was sending out drop notification emails. I changed how those emails are sent so they go out way more reliably now.

And with how Vine has been dropping items in a small trickle lately, I adjusted the thresholds so a notification only goes out once the drop actually starts to pick up steam, instead of on 1 or 2 items that sometimes show up hours before the real drop.

Where things are at

VineChart is constantly being updated as things change and more people hop on board. We're still growing every day and that's super amazing to see.

Right now I'm actively working on splitting VineChart off of one server onto 3 total. That'll move all the critical stuff off a single server and spread it across multiple so the whole thing is more reliable. Two of those servers will both host VineChart and traffic will be load balanced between them, which should help with the big traffic spikes around drop times. The tricky part is integrating and cloning the current setup on the other two servers so the data matches across all 3.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who's stuck with me through these changes and challenges. All the support is what keeps me motivated to deliver something solid and reliable for everyone. I've got more stuff in the pipeline once this upgrade is done and I'm excited to share it once everything is moved over and working well.

A new update for the iOS version of VineChart (v1.0.9) is currently in review by Apple. Once it's approved, it will be released automatically. That can take several hours, so keep an eye out.

If you're still on the beta through TestFlight, I recommend uninstalling that version and then reinstalling VineChart from the App Store to get this latest update.

What's in 1.0.9

• Customizable Added/Requested stats — You can now choose which stats to show, just like on Android and desktop.
• Drop rate — You can see at a glance how quickly items are dropping. The drop rate appears under "Drop in progress" and is hidden when no drop is in progress.
• Time zone selector — In Settings you'll find a time zone option. By default it's set to Auto (your device's time zone). You can change it if you prefer.
• Bug fixes — Drop status now matches across all platforms, so you shouldn't see "in progress" when it's not. The app icon notification badge had some odd behavior; opening the app or interacting with the notification now correctly clears the badge. Custom sounds should stick more reliably. There's also a data notice under the main graph and clearer navigation on the historical graph screens.

I'm making headway and things are behaving better. I'll be doing a server migration in the coming days and using it for load balancing. That should help with the traffic that's been bogging things down. We've outgrown a single server, so spreading the load should make things more effective and efficient.

Hi everyone,
I need to share an update on where things stand.

Amazon recently changed how Vine is dropping items. That change has completely flipped how VineChart was built to work. A lot of the core assumptions the site was built on no longer hold, so I'm having to rebuild the foundation of how VineChart works. I've been working on this nonstop for the last several days since the change happened.

I really appreciate your patience and understanding. I know this is frustrating. I'm asking for a bit more patience while I get this rebuilt and back in action so VineChart can be a reliable source for you again.

A lot of people may not know this, but VineChart isn't a team. It's just me, and I have a full-time job and a family. So please bear with me while I work through this.

Fingers crossed this new, odd drip of items is temporary and we can get back to regular drops again.

One known issue (aside from the weird drop times and notifications/emails): iOS can show "drop in progress" while the website does not. That will be fixed. The important part: actual notifications are not tied to what the iOS app shows. They go by the drop status on the website. I'm prioritizing getting the new thresholds right on the website first, since that's faster than making small changes in the iOS app and sending each one to Apple for approval. I hope to have that cleared up in the next couple of days.

This update is mainly for the web but also applies to the Android app. Several people suggested removing the 1 minute product updates because they seemed unhelpful. I've had a lot of these emails and I really appreciate them. Suggestions are what keep VineChart headed in the right direction.

I removed the 1 minute update along with the highest drop stat, since that was also suggested for removal multiple times. Within 4 hours of removing them, I had over 6 emails from users explaining why those stats matter and how they use them, some every day. So I put everything back. That got me thinking: wouldn't it be nice if users could choose what they see? So that's what I did. You now have a Visible Stat Filter. If you like using the 1 minute Add/Requested stats, you can keep them; if you prefer not to see them, you can hide them. By selecting the Edit Visible Stats button you can choose to show 1 minute, 30 minute, 1 hour, 12 hour, and 24 hour add/requested stats. You have to have at least one selected, but you can show just one or all of them if you like.

I also kept the Record Drop date. You can find it by hovering, clicking, or tapping over the Vine Total product count.

I've added a 3 tier system to give a quick, easy, glanceable way to see where a drop is at any given time. There is a High, Medium, and Low drop rate. When things are dropping quickly you'll see a High drop rate badge; when things level out you'll see a Medium drop rate badge; and when things are slowly dripping you'll see a Low drop rate badge. I'm still tuning these (e.g. X items in Y amount of time), but it's getting there.

Lastly, you can now click on the Last Drop date and time to open a dropdown of past drop dates and their drop start times. At the launch of these updates the list will be empty, but it will grow over time into a historical list of past drop dates and times.

I hope these changes help you get to the data you care about quickly and efficiently.

Someone brought to my attention an issue where the donation links were being pulled into the new "Open with app" option. That's now fixed.

The donation platform buttons (Buy Me a Coffee, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App) should open as they did before. Only the Open Vine button uses the new "Open link with [app]" behavior; donation links are no longer affected.

Temporary workaround:
If you have already chosen a default app for Open Vine, go into the Settings screen inside the VineChart app. Tap the "Choose or clear default app" button and remove your default app choice. The donation buttons should then ask which app to use. Select a browser and it should work again.
If you have not set a default app, just select a browser in the "Open with" menu when selecting the donation platform.

Android app v1.0.0 is on the way

The Android app v1.0.0 has been submitted to the Google Play Store. Keep an eye out for it. This release adds scrolling and pinch to zoom, email confirmation for drop notifications (Toast Message Correction), plus a bunch of bug fixes and optimizations. If you're on Android, grab the update when it shows up for you.

Website: Last drop & email signup

On the site you'll now see the Last drop date and time, and it follows your selected timezone. Thank you so much for that! Great suggestion!

I've also changed how email drop signups work. I was getting a lot of signups with invalid addresses: typos, non-existent domains, or "phone@carrier" style addresses from people hoping for SMS. My email provider has a limited monthly pool, and every invalid signup still counted against it. So now, when you sign up, we send a confirmation email you have to open and activate. That way you know right away if something's wrong (wrong address, typo, etc.), and it helps me keep that pool for valid email addresses. Apologies for the extra step, but it should make things better for everyone.

SMS alerts

The most requested feature is still SMS text alerts. It's really expensive to run, but I do have something in the works for people who want it. I've been playing around with it on my staging site, and there will be more news on that in the future.

I want to welcome all the new VineChart users who have joined us recently! We've added over 300 new users in just the last 24 hours. Thank you for your support and for being part of the VineChart community!

I also need to address an important issue regarding Drop notifications. Due to the randomly timed drop yesterday, I discovered that a notification cooldown duration I had in place was incorrectly set. This cooldown was meant to prevent multiple notifications if a drop status flip-flopped between "ended" and "in progress," but it was set too high, which caused some users to miss notifications during this mornings drop. There isn't any issue with your notification settings in the app. This was purely a server-side issue.

This was 100% an oversight on my end, and I sincerely apologize for any missed notifications. The issue has been identified and fixed, and notifications will be back in action for the upcoming drop. If you didn't receive a notification yesterday, please know this was a temporary issue that has been resolved, and you will receive notifications for all future drops going forward.

I'm excited to share that the VineChart iOS app has been approved by Apple and is now available for download!

After 4 rejections and several back and forths with Apple's developers and review team, the app has finally been approved for release. This was a long process, and I'm grateful for the team's patience and guidance throughout the review process.

The app can take up to 24 hours to appear in the App Store, but you should be able to search for it and download it like you would any other app once it's live.

Thank you to everyone who has donated and helped get VineChart to this point. It's a big day, and I'm so excited we have made it this far!

I'm excited to announce a new feature that I've been working on: you can now view graphs for individual product categories!

Each category now has its own graph that shows the ebbs and flows of that specific category over time. This means you can see which categories are seeing the most activity and how each one changes throughout the day.

The graphs will become more detailed and useful the longer they're up and pulling in data. To give you a good starting point, I gathered about 48 hours of historical data so the graphs have meaningful information from day one.

You can access this feature using the category dropdown at the top of the Live tab. Select any category to view its individual graph, or choose "All Products" to see the overall total.

I'll continue collecting data to make these graphs even more useful over time. Enjoy exploring the different categories!

I wanted to give everyone an update on the iOS app submission process.

Apple initially rejected the app because it looked too similar to the website. In response, I completely rebuilt it as a fully native iOS app that takes full advantage of iOS's native capabilities.

The new version includes:

• iOS v26 animations and theming (from the newest iOS v26 update)
• Home screen widgets
• Several other integrated native iOS features

The iOS crowd will end up getting quite the app by the time this is done and approved. The app is built at this point but not done, and I'm continuing to refine it as we go through the review process.

I have resubmitted the app back for review this morning and will give an update once I get word back from Apple.

Apple's review process is strict, and the first and second time approvals are uncommon. I'll keep iterating until VineChart is on the App Store.

The review process can take several days, and Apple may request code revisions before approval. Once approved, the beta will be available through TestFlight, Apple's official beta testing platform.

I've made a major improvement to how drop alert emails are sent out, and I'm excited to share it with you!

With the recent growth in VineChart users, I noticed that email alerts were taking a very long time to reach everyone. Sometimes up to 45 minutes for all emails to be delivered. This meant that some users were getting their drop alerts much later than others, which wasn't fair and could cause you to miss out on drops.

I've just implemented a significant update that allows many more emails to be sent simultaneously. This has dramatically reduced the delivery time from nearly 45 minutes down to just 4 minutes! Now everyone should receive their drop alerts much faster and more consistently.

I'm continuing to work on further improvements to get that delivery time down even more, so you can expect even faster alerts in the future.

Important Note About iCloud/Apple Email Accounts:

I'm also aware that some users with iCloud, Mac, or other Apple email accounts may not be receiving alerts at all. This is due to Apple's strict email security policies that are blocking the alerts. I'm actively investigating this issue to see if there's anything that can be done to improve delivery to Apple email addresses. If you're using an Apple email account and not receiving alerts, please know that this is a known issue and I'm working on finding a solution.

For now, if you're having trouble receiving alerts with an Apple email address, you might want to consider using a different email provider for your VineChart notifications to ensure you don't miss any drops.

I've just released VineChart Android version 0.1.20-beta, and it comes with a brand-new in-app Updates experience.

You'll now see an Updates button next to the Live and History tabs that opens a dedicated screen for news, feature launches, and behind-the-scenes changes all without leaving the app.

The in-app Updates screen is powered by the same content you see on the website, but presented in a fast, native-friendly layout so you can keep an eye on what's new while you track drops.

This feature is available starting with version 0.1.20-beta and newer. If you don't see the new Updates button yet, make sure you're on the latest version of the app in the Google Play Store.

I've added a new feature to help me understand how users discover VineChart! When subscribing for drop alerts, you'll now see a "How'd you hear about VineChart?" field.

This helps me better understand the community and focus my efforts on the platforms where you're most active. Options include Reddit, Facebook, Discord, Google Search, Word of Mouth, and Other. Thanks to everyone who's already filled this out!

This feature is now available on both the web version and the Android app.

Fixed several issues with the ticker (scrolling information bar) on the Android app and mobile browsers:

• Restored tap-to-pause functionality on Android devices
• Fixed disappearing sections on iOS devices
• Improved animation performance and reliability
• Added auto-resume after 3 seconds when paused
• Enhanced touch controls for better mobile experience

The ticker now works smoothly across all platforms - desktop, Android app, iOS app, and mobile browsers. You can tap it to pause and read, and it will automatically resume scrolling after 3 seconds.

Great progress on the iOS app! I've been working hard to bring VineChart to iPhone users, and I'm getting close to a public release.

The app will include all the features you love from the web version, plus native push notifications for instant drop alerts. Stay tuned for more updates!

Great progress update! I've successfully implemented iOS push notifications on the server side. This was a major hurdle on the iOS app development checklist, and I'm happy to report it's working as expected.

Important note: The iOS app is still currently in development and not yet available to the public. However, once it's released, the push notification system will be ready to go. The iOS app will automatically register for push notifications when you first open it, and you'll receive notifications whenever a drop is detected, keeping you informed in real-time.

Once the iOS app launches, both Android and iOS apps will have feature parity when it comes to push notifications. No more missing out on drops!

I've fixed an issue that was affecting everyone - the full-page Cloudflare Turnstile verification that would appear when loading the website. This was happening on all platforms: mobile browsers, desktop browsers, and even within the Android app.

The initial Cloudflare Turnstile page has been removed, which means faster and smoother access to VineChart for everyone, regardless of how you're accessing the site. Form submissions (like subscribing for alerts or using the contact form) still use their standard captcha verification for security, but you no longer have to deal with that initial verification page when first visiting the site.

This improvement benefits all users - whether you're on mobile, desktop, or using the Android app, you'll get faster response times and a better experience.

I've added Android app promotion sections to the website to help users discover the mobile app. You'll now see:

• App promotion in the welcome modal (hidden for app users)
• App promotion in the "Get drop alerts" subscription pop-up (hidden for app users)
• "Get it on Google Play" button in the footer (hidden for app users)

The Android app offers faster and more reliable drop alerts through native push notifications, so I wanted to make sure web users know about it! These promotions are automatically hidden when viewing the site from within the app, since you obviously don't need to download the app if you're already using it.

I've implemented comprehensive server-side rate limiting to ensure VineChart stays fast and reliable for all users, even during high-traffic periods.

What this means for you:

• Faster page loads and smoother experience
• Better protection against abuse and bots
• More reliable real-time updates via Server-Sent Events (SSE)
• Improved database connection management
• Enhanced monitoring and error handling

The rate limits are generous enough that normal users won't notice them, but they help prevent the site from being overwhelmed. I've also optimized connection pooling and SSE management to handle more concurrent users efficiently.

These improvements allow me to run VineChart without needing to use the initial Cloudflare Turnstile page, which means faster response times for everyone!

• Added grace period to prevent false "drop ended" notifications
• Enhanced drop status calculation accuracy

These changes mean you'll get more accurate notifications - you'll be alerted when drops actually start, and won't get false alarms when they haven't really ended. The system is now smarter about distinguishing between temporary fluctuations and actual drops.
